The Architecture of Movement
Grace Gontarek is a senior at Chapman University pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance and a BS in Business Administration. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she trained at KJ Dance and Prodigy Dance Centre, earning national recognition as a Top 10 Best Dancer at The Dance Awards and NYCDA. At Chapman, she has had the privilege of training with renowned companies and choreographers such as Orsolina 28, A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham, Alonzo King LINES, and BODYTRAFFIC, as well as performing works by Jacob Jonas, Doug Varone, Dwight Rhoden, and Martha Graham. She currently serves as Co-President of Chapman’s Co. Lab, where she feels lucky to collaborate with a company of generous and inspiring dancers. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in concert dance with continued exploration in choreography and leadership.
